The European Geosciences Union (EGU) has named journalist Jane Qiu as one of two winners of its first Geosciences Communications Fellowship for her proposal on climate change reporting. Based in Beijing and London, Jane Qiu is a freelance science writer who regularly contributes articles on climate change, hydrology, atmospheric science and other geoscience topics to publications such as Nature, Science, and The Economist. Qiu focuses on climate change research in the Third Pole, which she says “may hold the key to our planet’s past, present and future climates”.
