TPE is an international program dedicated to the study of the Third Pole Environment. With the increasing international communication and cooperation required by TPE, we now have four positions available in the Beijing office to interested and qualified candidates.

1.   International Cooperation staff

Responsible for work related to international cooperation, including maintenance of routine correspondence and daily responsibilities of TPE, carrying out international activities to promote TPE, and other related duties as assigned.

2.   International Project staff

Responsible for work related to international research projects, including keeping routine project communications, actively contributing to the advancement of the international TPE program, and other related duties as assigned.

3.   International Training staff

Responsible for organizing relevant international conferences, coordinating training programs for the international cooperation projects, and other related duties as assigned.

4.   South and Central Asia Cooperation staff

Responsible for work related to TPE program cooperation with South Asia and Central Asia, including maintenance of routine correspondence, promoting research projects, and organizing relevant international conferences.

The successful applicants should have at least a Bachelor degree, knowledgeable of effective use of Microsoft Office, ability to work cooperatively as a team player, be in good health, and have strong written and verbal communication skills in English (South and Central Asia Cooperation staff should be bilingual in Russian and English). Participants with a background in the Geosciences or Environmental Science are particularly welcome.

Salary commensurate with education and experience according to the current collective wage and salary schedule of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research. Initial appointment is for three years, provided satisfactory completion of a three month probationary period. Appointment contract may be extended based on work needs, mutual agreement, and continued program funding.
